Leaders of the Ngok Dinka and Misseriya communities in Abyei area expected to meet today with the United Nations Interim Force for Abyei (UNISFA) to discuss security matters in the area, a local leader said.
Ngok Dinka Paramount Chief Bolabak Deng Kuol told Radio Tamazuj that six leaders from both communities would be meeting over deteriorating security situation in the area.
Last week, at least people from the Misseriya tribe were killed in northern Abyei by attackers believed to be from Dinka tribe.
Kuol revealed that they sent a local delegation of Ngok Dinka to the common Amieth market to convey a message of condolence to the affected families, adding that the market has since been reopened.
