 The two communities of Ngap Administrative unit in Gok state and Bahr el Gel county in Western Lakes state told the visiting committee on Friday that there is a need for the two Governors of Gok and Western Lakes states to conduct a one day rally with the two communities that have been in conflict due to border disputes for almost a year.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, the Director of Gok state Radio at the state Ministry of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports, Mathew Chol Chol Monydhel, pointed out that the communities on the ground are seriously appealing to the two Governors through security committee of the two states that the governors should urgently pay a visit to the disputed area to address them, so as to avoid further violence that may claim the lives of the innocent people with their properties.

 Mathew concluded that the security committee is expected to brief the governors of the two states on their recent visit of last week to the disputed areas. Last month, the two governors of Gok state, Madhang Majok Meen and Western Lakes state, Abraham Makoi Bol held a one day meeting in Cueibet on how to address the disputed areas of Ngap and Bahr el Gel that claimed the lives of more than five people dead and four wounded in August this year.

On 23rd September, 2016,the governor of Gok and Western Lakes states were summoned by the National Council of states through National Ministry of parliamentary affairs in regard to the disputed areas which Gok and Western Lakes states claims ownership. The Council of States told the governors to engage and reconcile the communities in conflict to have peace until the committee is formed by the National government to verify the facts on the ground.
