The newly appointed Sudanese Ambassador to South Sudan is set to present his diplomatic credentials to South Sudan President Salva Kiir in the coming days and to serve officially as the representative of the Government of Sudan in Juba.
Ambassador Essam El-Din Mohamed Hassan Karar on Wednesday met with South Sudan’s Foreign Minister Ramadan Abdallah Goc and presented his intention to meet President Kiir.
Consul Yahya Mohamed Osman explained that the meeting was attended by diplomatic missions in the country, stressing that he would arrange a meeting with the president soon.
“That the ambassador will present his credentials to the President of the Republic, which will be determined later after coordination with the relevant authorities,” he stated.
Osman revealed that the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed strengthening relations between the two countries, and how to develop relations between Juba and Port Sudan, in addition to cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in Juba and Port Sudan.
“They also focused on the conditions of the Sudanese community in Juba in terms of regularizing their status, as well as strengthening relations in the political, economic, and cultural fields,” he added.
The Ambassador extended thanks to the government and people of South Sudan for their good cooperation in facilitating the procedures for the entry of Sudanese into the territories of South Sudan following the ongoing war in Sudan.
The newly appointed Sudanese Ambassador, Essam El-Din Mohamed Hassan Karar, succeeded Ambassador Jamal Mal.
