New Yargot county commissioner takes oath of office

Peter Lual Lual Ayok has taken the ceremonial oath of office to become the commissioner for Yargot in the newly created Aweil East state.

Peter Lual Lual Ayok has taken the ceremonial oath of office to become the commissioner for Yargot in the newly created Aweil East state. Lual replaced William Mayen Deng, who was removed from the office last week by the gubernatorial order by Governor Deng Deng Akuei

The new official took oath of office on Monday before the governor Deng in Malualkon, the administrative headquarters of the new state.

He welcomed his appointment and pledged to work hard to unite the people of his area.

“I confirm I have been sworn in today as commissioner of YARGOT county.  It is very important you know we just had a national dialogue programs before us, so we have to make sure we have things all in order for us and the country at large to regain strength and become harmonious and this must start with each and every individuals, he said.

He continued:” I am excited and very overwhelmed at the moment, so we are learning as we go “We are looking forward to getting involved in this by learning the ropes and doing a good job for our people and the country.  The new official said some of the top issues his administration would face for 2017 will be mobilization of the people to accept themselves and work for the people and peaceful coexistence.  

“There is no problem in my place.  Yargot County is peaceful place in the state.  Like in other county of Aweil east, we do not have communal conflict. Our people don’t fight themselves. They don’t raid cattle. We are naturally a peaceful community and so we encourage our people to remain so that other people can come and learn from us”, he explained
