The recently appointed Commissioner of Wau County in South Sudan’s Western Bahr el Ghazal State has failed to show up for work at his county headquarters since his appointment last month. He blames “logistical” and administrative problems hindering him from reaching the county headquarters in Bagari.
Commissioner Anthony Pada Anthony told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that he received the county government vehicle in bad condition which made it difficult for him to travel to his county headquarters.
He said his office also lacks some equipment and he ordered from the state government but they did not respond yet.
The commissioner denied that insecurity in the county was the main reason for his failure to turn up at the county office.
