A new teachers’ training institution known as Maper National College was opened in South Sudan’s Aweil state last week.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, the National Minister of Education Deng Deng Hoc said the new centre will meet the needs of teachers and adults who want to undertake professional development studies.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Aweil State, Ronald Ruay Deng Maker, promised to support the centre, saying the new college is an important achievement in the education sector in the state.
“I want to assure you that the government of Aweil state will stand with you in all the support you may need,” he said.
The collage was constructed by the national government in Juba with a support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
