New SPLM chief whip calls for cooperation between party members

Atem Garang Dekuek, the newly appointed SPLM party chief whip in South Sudan’s parliament has urged all party members to cooperate with his new administration to overcome challenges facing the ruling party.

Garang made these remarks after assuming his new office today.

“Being in a party position means that who comes in and who goes out can still work together. I was here, as I am replacing you, still I will need your knowledge and need all the cadres in this assembly that we cooperate and do what is wanted from us for this nation,” said Atem said.

The new government chief whip emphasized the need for collective efforts to overcome all the challenges facing South Sudan.

“He is a cadre of the SPLM and he will handle this table very well,” said Tulio Odongi, the outgoing SPLM chief whip.
