New South Sudan NGO plans to combat hunger

A new organization has been formed to combat hunger and increase food production in South Sudan.

The South Sudan Youth Network Against Poverty says that it aims to support policies that would help to feed five million people in the next five years.

“Our planned activities to fight against poverty are through food production, formal and informal education and peace building”, a statement from the organization reads.

It has helped to feed around 100 people in Bilnyang, Achongchong, Torit, 500 people in Panthou, and 960 people in Akoka. South Sudan is one of the most food insecure countries in the world, with three out of every four people suffering from food shortages.
