New S Sudan ambassador submits credentials to Sudan's FM

The new South Sudanese Ambassador to Khartoum, Kau Nak Maper, has submitted a copy of his credentials to Sudanese Foreign Minister Asma Ahmed Abdalla.

Mr. Maper met with the Sudanese foreign minister in the capital Khartoum on Monday.

State news agency SUNA said the Sudanese minister wished the South Sudanese Ambassador all success in the performance of his duties and in enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, the new ambassador vowed to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, saying that he would work to deepen cooperation with Sudan in various fields and boost bilateral relations.

Ambassador Kau expressed his pleasure at representing his country in Sudan.

Kau’s predecessor, Mayen Dut Wol, was appointed by President Salva Kiir as Undersecretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in August 2019.

Sudan and South Sudan have recently indicated they are willing to deepen cooperation and promote bilateral ties, after a legacy of unstable relations between the two countries since 2011.
