New presence of LRA in Western Bahr el Ghazal

Citizens in Boro Medina in South Sudan's Western Bahr el Ghazal State have confirmed the new presence of elements from the Lord's Resistance Army in the bush in the area last Saturday.

They said the army patrolling in the area managed to pursue the LRA elements and they fled toward the border with Central African Republic.

Musa Shayib, a prominent leader from the area told Radio Tamazuj a group of citizens went for hunting on the west side of the town where they saw a group of armed men from LRA. He said they reported this to the government forces in the area who managed to pursue them out of the town area.

Musa said LRA elements are present in the remote border areas between Sudan, South Sudan and Central African Republic and that they often attack farmers to take their agricultural products.
