Lakes State Governor Rin Tueny Mabor on Friday opened a new petrol station in the state capital, Rumbek.

Speaking after the opening of the petrol station, Governor Rin urged the people of Lakes State to maintain peaceful coexistence and harmony to allow investors to come to Rumbek.

“The reason why we are opening this Dove Petrol Station is because of peace, and if we continue maintaining peace among ourselves, more investors will come to Rumbek. We have enough land to offer for those who want to open schools, hospitals, and other businesses in Rumbek,” he said.

“There is peace in Lakes State, and the government is ready to provide protection and security to business people and investors in Rumbek,” he added.

Meanwhile, Awan Guol Riak, the former minister in the office of the president, encouraged people with business ideas to startup businesses.

Awan, who owns a large business centre in Rumbek, said: “We now have peace in Lakes State; it’s an opportunity for people to do business in Lakes State.”

For his part, the chief executive officer of Dove Petroleum, Malok Marial, appreciated the state government for stabilizing the security in Lakes State.

“Whenever there is something wrong at the petrol station, don’t rush and close down the fuel pump station and arrest some workers at the fuel station or it manager, but first investigate and have a discussion with the station manager,” Malok urged the authorities.

The opening of the Dove Petrol Station in Rumbek town was attended by citizens and several government officials.
