At least 9 newly appointed officials including the deputy governor were sworn-in on Thursday in Tambura State Capital in the presence of the state governor Patrick Raphael Zamoi.
At the beginning of the month, Governor Zamoi issued gubernatorial decrees in which he reshuffled his cabinet and created 4 new counties.
James Adu Votoki was named the new state deputy governor replacing Lino Utu Takuari who served as deputy governor since the creation of Tambura State. David Paulino Simbi was appointed the new health minister replacing Arkangelo Ngoni Kirikiri.
Governor Zamoi also created the ministry of gender and social welfare and the ministry of cooperatives and rural development, appointing Santina Kazi Fondi and Zacharia Augustino Kusi as the ministers respectively.
In yet another decree, the governor created four new counties and appointed their commissioners as follows; John Francis Nondi commissioner for Naandi County, Leticia Bonito Gbafu commissioner for Yangiri County, Dominic Carlo Agumeringo commissioner for Mopoi County and Jorom Lawrence commissioner for Rii Yubu County.
Zamoi further appointed Elario Hassen Muktasi as Nagero County Commissioner replacing Balia Digido Uyaka who was kidnapped with other officials by opposition forces last month.
Speaking during the event, the governor urged the newly appointed commissioners to work together in order to end insecurity in their respective areas and avoid competition among themselves.
He said the reshuffle is an administrative procedure and should not be taken to mean that the former ministers did not perform.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed county commissioner for Yangiri Leticia Bonito who is the only female commissioner in Tambura State said she will ensure that she delivers services to her community.
