Another split has emerged within a South Sudanese opposition faction led by Gen. Peter Gatdet Yak, who has been accused of alleged mismanagement.

Gatdet is the chairman of Sudan South United Movement (SSUM). He also heads a faction of South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA), which split into two groups over leadership disagreements last year.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Monday, the head of the dissent group, General Tut Gatjual said they defected from Gatdet after he dismissed, without consultations, military officials within the movement.

Tut, who was the group's secretary general, said he defected from Gatdet with 200 political and military leaders and is in contact with Gabriel Changson-led coalition to join them.

In August last year, Gatdet's deputy and the SSUM spokesperson defected from the movement and joined the government in Juba.

Gatdet could not easily be reached, despite repeated attempts.
