New GPAA Chief administrator sacks deputy

The new Chief Administrator of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA), Peter Guzule Maze, has sacked his deputy, Alfred Omot Akway Agada.

Agada was sacked in a decree issued on Monday night and replaced by John Joseph Abulla, in a separate decree.

GPAA Information Minister Jacob Werrchum Jouk told Radio Tamazuj that the Chief Administrator acted within his powers in effecting the changes and that arrangements were underway to have the new officials sworn in. 

In another decree, Alfred Omot was reassigned to take advisory role for the peace commission.

Other appointments were as follows:

Advisors:

  1. Political Affairs – Abraham Ngacho Thanko, replacing Beko Konyi Longolyo
  2. Security Affairs – James Kongkong Loden, replacing Baba Panum Monthak
  3. Peace and Reconciliation – Alfred Omot, replacing Joseph John Abulla

Ministers:

  1. Local Government – Simon Peter Ajiny, replacing Nyakiyako  Yousif Chollo
  2. General Education – Korok Nyal Choma, replacing Gabriel Amakori Thanko

“These new officials were appointed by the new Chief Administrator within his prerogative. These officials will be sworn-in to office tomorrow or the next day,” Jouk said.
