Ismail Konyi, the newly appointed governor of South Sudan’s Boma State said he wanted peace to prevail in his state where cases of killings and child abductions are on the rise.
Konya made his remarks on Sunday during church services in the capital Juba.
Konyi also complained about the proliferation of arms in the hands of civilians in Boma State, saying guns are the real enemy of peace in the country.
Konyi called on citizens of Boma state who are currently living in Juba to return back home to develop the state.
