Seven newly appointed county commissioners in South Sudan’s Maridi State took oath of office on Saturday.
The state minister for local government, Bodi Michael Nbangayo presided over the swearing-in ceremony of commissioners of Maridi, Ibba, Mambe, Konzi, Maruko, Landile and Nabanga counties.
Nbangayo urged the new commissioners to work hard and utilize funds allocated for the development of their counties.
Meanwhile the state advisor on political affairs, Edward Mande called on the commissioners to sensitize masses on the need for peace and stability in the country.
Maridi borders Amadi, Gbudue, Western Lakes and Yei River States.
