The Gumbiri radio station operates on the 102.6 frequency. The new radio station was opened on Saturday by the Episcopal Church of South Sudan Central Eqauatoria Internal Province.

Speaking during the radio station’s launch, Lainya County Commissioner Stephen Degol steward said the radio station will help promote civic education and peace in the area.

“Radio is very important because with the radio we can reach out to the rural population in the villages on education, health, reconciliation and dissemination of the revitalized peace agreement for the people to know its implementation through this community radio station,” he explained.

Gumbiri Radio is expected to cover Lainya County, Mukaya, Yei, Kupera and greater Kajo-Keji.
