A local chief in Lakes State says that 4000 more displaced people have arrived Mingkaman IDP camp and have not yet been registered.

Deng Yak Athian, IDPs representative in Mingkaman, said at a community meeting that the new arrivals needs shelter kits and food assistance. He said aid agencies should verify the new arrivals and give them food.

“We have new arrivals, which are in Mingkaman with us and they need assistance, so this is why we are calling humanitarian agencies to give food and shelter.”

ACTED, the aid organization responsible for camp management, have reportedly registered the newly arrived displaced but did not yet provide assistance.
