New apostolic administrator in Rumbek for a week

The newly-appointed apostolic administrator for the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek Reverend Mathew Remijio arrived in Rumbek town of Lakes State on Wednesday.

The newly-appointed apostolic administrator for the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek Reverend Mathew Remijio arrived in Rumbek town of Lakes State on Wednesday.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj shortly after his arrival, the head of the committee of Rumbek Diocese Fr. Andrea Osman said the new apostolic administrator visited Fr. John Mathiang in Rumbek Central prison to pray for him.

Fr. Mathiang and six other suspects are being held at the prison in connection to the armed attack that critically injured Rumbek's Catholic Bishop-elect Fr. Christian Carlassare. 

Fr. Osman further said Reverend Mathew Remijio who is also the Bishop for Wau Diocese will be in Rumbek for a week before going to Juba.

He urged the Catholic faithful in Rumbek to pray for peace, love, unity, and reconciliation in the country.
