Nearly 29,000 refugees sent to temporary sites in White Nile

A refugee coordinating committee in Sudan’s White Nile State has transported nearly 29,000 South Sudanese refugees to new waiting sites in Al Salam and Jebelian locality.

In a press statement, the head of the refugees’ coordinating committee Al Tayib Mohamed Abdullah said they transported the refugees to Khor Waral and Jadida at Al Naim area, as well  as Al Salam and Jeblein east of Al Algaya.

The Sudanese official said there is still an influx of South Sudanese refugees this month.

He said the Wold Food Programme, UNICEF, Sudanese Red Crescent, and Humanitarian Aid Commission have pledged to provide food, shelter, and health services to the conflict-affected people.

Abdullah expected further influx of refugees at Joda Al Adel area on the White Nile-Upper Nile borders.
