A group of students from Sudan’s ruling National Congress Party (NCP) attacked student activists aligned with the opposition Sudan Liberation Movement led by Minni Arko Minnawi at Omdurman Ahlia University in Khartoum, wounding six students.
One of the Minawi’s student supporters told Radio Tamazuj that the NCP students attacked them at their rally on Thursday, claiming they used live bullets.
He pointed out that at least six students were hurt, some sustained critical injuries. The student added the wounded students were taken to their families for medical care, saying they fear to take them to Khartoum Teaching Hospital due to security seasons.
He noted one student called Mohamed Fadhul Azeiraq has been taken to an unknown destination. Radio Tamazuj could not independently verity that claim.
