The Union of disabled persons in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State is calling on the state government and humanitarian partners to provide educational services to the disabled population.
Moses Kiir Yum, chairman of the Union said the disabled population once educated can contribute positively to the development of the state.
“We are disables, but we should not be disables in both sides… we want to fill the head with education, we want at least one school to be established to promote education of disabled people,’’ said Kiir.
He also called on the concerned authorities to provide them with agricultural tools so that they can sufficiently feed themselves.
Abraham Thuou Kuach, a senior member of the union said their office lacks essential furniture and even spare parts for their bicycles. Abraham is appealing to well-wishers to contribute both material and monetary support to the union for them to effectively perform their mandate.
