Some members of South Sudan’s National Security Service deployed at a roadside checkpoint near Juba Eye clinic have been seen today taking money from drivers and letting cars pass without being searched.

An eyewitness told Radio Tamazuj that they saw numerous drivers stopped by security and passing without their car doors being opened by the officials only seeing security taking something from car drivers and putting their hands in the pocket.

In recent days organised forces have deployed more heavily in Juba streets searching for weapons.
