The arrested deputy head of accounts at the state-owned oil company (Nilepet) remains in captivity of National Security Services (NSS) agents in Juba.

Family members confirmed to Radio Tamazuj that they still have not been allowed to visit him at the NSS custody where he is held, or speak to him by phone, after various attempts.

“I tried more than three times and I did not succeed.  People are not allowed to see him,” a family member who identified as Ayuen said.

He pointed out that Mabil is still being held by national security officials despite attempts by several top government officials from Jonglei state to intervene.

A source at Nilepet said national security officials were still continuing with investigations and that the Nilepet management was not involved in the investigation process.

Mabil was arrested last week by National Security Service for allegedly leaking secret information. Mark Mabil was picked and taken to NSS detention in Juba.
