The National Security Service in Yei said Thursday it has released the four suspects in the presences of the state governor, the commissioner and residents of Yei town in an effort to promote peace, reconciliation and stability in the state.

Meanwhile, the governor of Yei River State Emmanuel Adil Anthony has confirmed the release of the four people.

Adil said the release of the detainees is a gesture for peace, reconciliation with the opposition. He told the detainees that he has come for peace not war with members of the SPLA-IO group.

Opposition officials in Yei could not immediately be reached for comment.
