National security officer injured in knife attack in Tambura

A National Security officer was wounded in a stabbing attack by unknown criminals on Wednesday last week in Tambura town of Tamura State, a senior police officer has confirmed.

The state police commissioner, Deriki Sasa told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that the injured man identified as Abel Mark was attacked while he was on duty.

Sasa said the criminals tried to snatch Mark’s gun as he patrolled his area on Christmas day and is now receiving treatment in hospital.

Sasa urged citizens to be calm as authorities search for the criminals.
