The South Sudan National Security Services (NSS) have arrested two people in possession of arms and large quantities of different ammunition in Juba town.

An NSS officer addressing the media on Monday said the two were arrested after security apparatus received information of suspicious activity around Seven Day’s roundabout in Juba.

He said the two were caught with 17 AK-47guns, 1 CQ gun and 18,243 ammunition for AK-47, 9,680 ammunition for PKM. 3,636 and 8,804 ammunition for Anti-Tanks and CQs respectively were also seized.

“The luggage let me say paper bags; these are what they are using to bring the ammunition so that they put in the sacks of sugar,” he said.

He revealed that investigations have been launched and the two will be brought to book.
