Former Paloch county commissioner Dhieu Mading has accused national security agents of detaining him after a minor misunderstanding.
Mading told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that armed national security officers stormed his home in Rumbek town in Western Lakes State on Monday and arrested him, a day after he was relieved from his position.
He claimed that last week his bodyguards quarrelled with national security forces after they barred him from accessing the town. He accused the officers of slapping him for questioning the illegal checkpoints in the town.
Radio Tamazuj was not able to access Western Lakes State officials to comment on the matter.
