National Parliament Women’s Caucus trains Aweil women on peace process

The National Parliament Women’s Caucus has conducted a two days conference in Aweil to encourage women to take part in implementation of the signed peace agreement between the Government of South Sudan and rebel group led by Riek Machar.

The National Parliament Women’s Caucus has conducted a two days conference in Aweil to encourage women to take part in implementation of the signed peace agreement between the Government of South Sudan and rebel group led by Riek Machar.

The training was held on Thursday to Friday this week.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday in Aweil Town, the Deputy Team Leader for National Parliament Committee in Aweil Grace Abalang Alex said that they came to Aweil to train women on their importance in the peace process.

She called for full implementation of the peace agreement and no more killing. She also added that if the peace is implemented, the country will rise out the current economic situation.

More than 30 women attended the conference and have been asked to disseminate peace messages to their communities at the grassroot levels.
