Dr. Saad-Eddin Mohammed Al-Tayib, a member of the governance committee within the National Dialogue said members of the committee discussed provisions of the Constitution on Thursday and Sunday.

He told Radio Tamazuj that all the participants agreed on the Constitution of 2005, but they proposed some amendments of some provisions in the constitution especially the public order laws and other laws restricting freedoms, besides other amendments related to the presidential oath.

In a press statement in Khartoum on Sunday, Al-Fadil Hajj Suleiman, the Secretary of Justice Affairs in the National Congress Party,  said the upcoming amendments and revision of laws will lead to the abolishing or minimization of many laws. He added that some laws will be merged according to what will be reached by specialists engaged in the national dialogue.

Suleiman pointed out that the amendments will include the Public Order Act, adding that these amendments are normal things that happen at any time in an attempt to keep up with developments.
