South Sudanese national humanitarian organizations Tuesday held a general conference aimed at exploring ways of promoting peace culture in the country.
Addressing the opening of the conference, the chairman of the national Relief and Rehabilitation Commission, Manasseh Lomole Waya called on the national Non-Government Organizations (NGO) to continue providing humanitarian services throughout the country.
He hailed the active role played by the NGOs since conflict erupted in the country in 2013 and 2016.
Lomole also acknowledged the Intergovernmental Authority on Development IGAD’s efforts and role in striving to bring an end the conflict in the country.
The conference which is expected to conclude today, Wednesday, is likely to come out with recommendations to support the organisations' yearly plans.
