South Sudan’s Northern Bahr el Ghazal State on Friday swore in the newly appointed ministers of information and communication, education and animal resources, and fisheries.

South Sudan's Northern Bahr el Ghazal State on Friday swore in the newly appointed ministers of information and communication, education and animal resources, and fisheries.

The move comes days after a mini-reshuffle where the state governor Tong Akeen Ngor fired the former information and communication minister Abraham Wol Kom, education minister Valentino Achak Deng, minister of animal resources and fisheries Santino Bol Akook, and the state legal advisor, Arkangelo Athian Teeng.

Governor Akeen appointed William Anyuon Kuol as the minister of information and communications, Santino Bol Akok as education minister, Diing Aher as minister of animal resources and fisheries, and Deng Amuoi Amuoi as state legal advisor.

Aweil East County Commissioner, Kiir Yor Lual told the press that the new state officials will support the government in supporting peace, unity, and service delivery to the people of the state.

The new information minister William Anyuon Kuol speaking on behalf of the appointed leaders said: “Today we have been sworn in by the state government led by the governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal Tong Akeen Ngor. We have come to back up the government and people of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.”

Aguak Kuac, a citizen in Aweil town, welcomed the new officials and urged them to improve the education system in the state.

He said, "We want the improvement of the education system to be done by the education minister and would like the information minister to support accurate information and news because many people use false news all the time."
