The minister of parliamentary affairs in the government of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, Lual Lual Agou, has passed on, officials revealed.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, the acting governor Tong Lual Ayat said the minister, a member of the Sudan People Liberation Movement In-Opposition (SPLM-IO) died at the Aweil Civil Hospital on Wednesday afternoon and the cause of his death was yet to be revealed.
“Minister Lual Lual Agou has died and the details are not yet released by the doctors. He was sick for a long time and people said he had asthma in the past until he died today (Wednesday) at around 1 pm,” the acting governor said.
He eulogized the late as an experienced and capable civil servant who served the nation wholeheartedly.
“He (deceased) was the best, most experienced, and most qualified minister who worked with us for a long time. We send condolences to the government of national unity in Northern Bahr el Ghazal and the entire people because we lost a strong man,” he added.
The SPLM-IO Secretary-General in the state, Garang Wol Kon, confirmed that minister Lual had passed on and speculated that he must have died of asthma complications.
