The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), the ruling party in South Sudan, on Thursday donated seven Land Cruiser vehicles to County SPLM Chairpersons, the State SPLM Youth League, and the State SPLM Women League in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit also serves as the SPLM chairperson.
Stephen Ayaga, the Secretary-General for the SPLM in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, expressed his gratitude to over one million members who contributed funds that were used to purchase an additional 12 vehicles.
“We are pleased to announce that with the contributions from our registered 1,000,436 members of the SPLM in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, we have purchased 10 Land Cruiser vehicles and two buses with 24 seats each. These vehicles have been distributed to all SPLM county chairpersons, the SPLM Youth, and the SPLM Women Leagues,” stated Ayaga during an interview with Radio Tamazuj over the weekend.
Peter Natale Okech, the Aweil Center County Commissioner and SPLM County Chairperson expressed his appreciation for the brand-new Land Cruiser he received from state party officials. He extended his thanks to all party members for their tireless contributions, which made the donation possible.
“I am grateful to the party and its chairman, Tong Akeen Ngor, for providing me with this new Land Cruiser. This donation will greatly enhance our party promotion activities, as it enables us to travel between locations and effectively communicate our vision and mission,” Okech remarked.
Similarly, Marko Majok Piol, the Aweil West County Commissioner, acknowledged the allocation of a vehicle for the Aweil West County SPLM Chairperson.
“The SPLM-IG has distributed vehicles to the SPLM County chairpersons, and the Aweil West County SPLM Chairperson has already received theirs. This is part of the ongoing activities in my county,” Majok explained.
