A munitions store at the Sudan Armed Forces Division 4 base in Blue Nile state exploded Sunday evening, causing panic and fear among residents living nearby.

Witnesses who spoke to Radio Tamazuj said they heard loud explosions late Sunday night and saw a surge of flames from the Division 4 area.

A military source in the division in Damazin confirmed the incident. The cause of the blast is not known, but there was a power problem which has since been solved, the source said.
