Police authorities in Mundri West County of Western Equatoria said they have launched investigations into the killing of a man in Lozoho Payam recently.
Last week, one person was reported killed while he was fishing in Lozoho Payam, located about 30 miles away from Mundri town.
Lt. Double Seven Clement, a police officer in charge of legal affairs in Mundri West, told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that they were holding two suspects in connection with the murder.
“These two suspects are in the custody and are now under investigations. They will appear before a court of law soon,” Clement said.
The police officer called on Mundri West residents to stop revenge attacks and appealed to the public to allow the murder case to be handled by the relevant authorities.
“What used to happen sometimes is that the relatives of the deceased would carry out a revenge attack, and it is not good. The case can be handled by the authorities until justice is realized, so revenge will take us nowhere,” he said.
