The governor of Western Equatoria State Alfred Futuyo Karaba says the newly constructed maternity wing of the Mundri Hospital will be commissioned in January next year.
Governor Futuyo initiated the construction of the maternity ward in January this year as he upgraded Mundri Primary Health Care Centre (MPHCC) to Mundri Hospital.
Speaking during a visit to the construction site on Sunday, Governor Futuyo Karaba said, “We have come here to visit the maternity ward that I have promised to construct during the time I came to Mundri when I also upgraded it to the county hospital level. We are also going to construct Kediba Hospital by God’s grace and this maternity ward will all be opened at the end of January 2022.”
The governor also pledged to work with Mundri West county authorities to construct an operation ward that will be also be opened in January 2022.
Governor Futuyo is in Mundri to attend the Centenary Celebrations of the Anglican Church in Western Equatoria State.
Meanwhile, Mundri West County Commissioner Zilifa Dawa Justin appreciated the work done by the governor and pledged to continue supporting the governor in service delivery.
