MTN Company has started operating in Pochalla County of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area for the first time since 2005.
Several residents interviewed by Radio Tamazuj from Pochalla town on Monday said the network will ease communication.
Atien Cham, a resident of Pochalla, said the MTN network has connected her with family members after years without communication.
“I am very happy because our life has changed. We are now connected to the rest of the world,” she said.
Amati Ochan, another resident, equally expressed his delight over the establishment of the mobile operator in the county.
“We are so happy. It is the first time to have this communication network in our lives. It is like a road since we are disconnected from the rest of the country,” he stressed.
For his part, Thiopia Ojulu, a former county commissioner, welcomed the establishment of the network, saying it covers Ajwara, Burator, Otallo and Otigo areas of greater Pochalla.
