Hassan Ngor, a member of the newly appointed parliament in South Sudan’s proposed Wau state has called on the governor Elias Waya to resign from his position if he is unable to protect the lives of the citizens.
He told Radio Tamazuj on Sunday that the security in Wau town and its surroundings is deteriorating.
“The security situation in the state is deteriorating and people are dying every day and every hour. From 6:00 in the evening no one can go out. That is why we asked the governor to resign if he is not able to protect the citizens,” said Hassan.
The lawmaker said the state government is unable to take the state forward, criticizing the governor for failing to protect the lives of its citizens. “The government is not able to take the state forward. The government has elements that cannot be officials or ministers in the state.”
