A political leader from a district bordering the disputed Kafia Kinji Enclave near the frontier with Darfur has called for non-governmental organizations to assist thousands of people displaced by fighting last year.
The member of Western Bahr al-Ghazal Legislative Assembly representing Timsa area in Raja County, Hon. Ali Dalil, said that the conditions of IDPs in his constituency are very critical. He told Radio Tamazuj the number of people from Sere Malaga, Kafia Kinji, and Kafia Debi areas has reached more than 4000 and now they are at Firga camp in harsh conditions.
The MP said there was no aid rendered to these people since their arrival to the camp and aid organizations are totally absent, other than the South Sudan Red Cross Society, which provided some items like sheets and cooking implements.
Hon. Dalil called on NGOs to assist these people before the start of the rainy season.
