More than 3 million displaced from South Sudan, WFP says

At least three million people have been displaced from South Sudan during its conflict, according to the World Food Program.

In a recent report, WFP said that there are over 1.2 million refugees from South Sudan, and more than 1.8 million people who were internally displaced due to its conflict.

Since fighting hit the capital in July, hundreds of thousands of South Sudanese have fled the county, most of them from the southern Equatoria region. In the first two weeks of November, WFP said that more than 44,000 people arrived from South Sudna into Uganda, most of them from the Yei, Morobo, Lainya, and Kajo Keji area.

The Bidibidi refugee camp in northern Uganda currently holds more than 160,000 South Sudanese who have fled the country’s conflict.
