South Sudan National Secondary Examinations started across the country on Monday.
The minister of General Education Deng Deng Hoc said 13, 897 students sitting the exams are distributed across 150 examination centres around the country.
Deng added that all displaced students residing at the UN Protection of Civilian Site in Juba will sit their exams at Buluk School exam centre.
“Tight security measures have been put for them to ensure they finish their exams without any problems,” he noted.
The minister further said that this year, the ministry put in place strict measures to prevent exam leakage.
Jubek State minister of education Wani Sule said they face a number of challenges including the distribution of examinations to the different centres, forcing some students to sit their exams in the capital Juba.
Meanwhile, education authorities Aweil East said 47 students have taken part in the examinations.
Santino Bol Akot, director for planning and budgeting at the state ministry of education said the students joined South Sudan examinations for senior four candidates.
“There are 47 candidates, 21 of them are for art section and 26 candidates for science section, said Bol.
