Emotions ran high in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya after a South Sudanese man who had gone missing for three days returned home last week.
Bang Malok, who was in charge of zone 1 at the camp, went missing on 13 December. Aweng Chol Biar, head of Upper Nile community at the camp, told Radio Tamazuj that Malok returned home after he had gone missing for three days, saying the man had an evil spirit in him that made him run to the bush.
He pointed out that many people flocked Malok’s home to confirm the news and praise God for his return safely.
The Kakuma camp, in the northwestern part of Kenya, is home to hundreds of thousands of South Sudanese refugees escaping conflict and starvation in their country.
