Misseriya peace committee restores raided cattle to Dinka Malual

The Missirya Arab border peace committee on Friday has restored 83 cattle out of a total of 145 that the Dinka Malual claim were raided in Machar Akoon area in Aweil East.

The Missirya Arab border peace committee on Friday has restored 83 cattle out of a total of 145 that the Dinka Malual claim were raided in Machar Akoon area in Aweil East.

Two weeks ago a group of Misseriya youths allegedly killed several people including six from the Dinka Malual and two from the Dinka Twic in a raid on a cattle camp.

Chairman of the Missirya border peace committee Seed Mohammeden Mahmoud expressed the disappointment of the tribe’s leadership in the recent incident and termed it as law-breaking. He appreciated the Dinka Malual and Southern government for supporing peace among border communities.

Meanwhile, the peace coordinator between the Dinka Malual and the Missirya tribes, Manut Yel Lual affirmed the commitment of the border peace committees to solve the differences among their tribes. Lual said the cattle were recovered by peace efforts from both communities.
