Native administration leaders of the Arab Misseriya tribe in Sudan’s West Kordofan State yesterday called on a mediation committee to expedite its work of mediating between the feuding Awlad Omran and Al-Ziyoud clans in the area.
The mediating committee was formed at a peace conference held in An Nahud town in November 2014.
In March 2015, clashes erupted between the Awlad Omran and Al-Ziyoud groups of the Arab Misseriya tribe at Kilo 13 area in West Kordofan State.
Ambadi Kabashi, a Misseriya tribal leader, told Radio Tamazuj the mediation committee between the two sides headed by Bashtana Mohamed Saleh held a meeting with the two feuding clans recently.
Ambadi further said the two sides confirmed their commitment to respecting the resolutions of the Nahud conference. He predicted that the mediation committee will come in the coming few days to start the mediation process.
