A peace and reconciliation committee between the Awlad Omran and Zeyut clans of the Misseriya Humr tribe in Sudan’s West Kordofan have discussed payments of blood money for scores of people killed in clashes earlier this year.
The clashes that claimed nearly 150 lives between the two clans erupted over a piece of land in the area.
During the peace meeting over the last two days in En Nahud town, the committee disclosed that about 90 men were reported killed from Awlad Omran side. The committee further said about 63 people were reported killed from the Zeyut side.
The panel pointed out that it was agreed that an amount of 30,000 SDG will be paid as blood money for each and that an amount of 3,000 SDG will be given to any wounded fighter during those clashes.
The two feuding clans agreed to pay blood money in installments starting from March to December 2015.
