South Sudan’s Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology on Monday released the long awaited admission list of successful candidates into high learning institutions for the 2015/2016 academic year.
Speaking during a press conference on Monday, Yien Oral Lam Tut, the minister of higher education said the targeted certificates were South Sudan Secondary School Certificate of 2016 and its equivalent of Sudan Secondary School Certificate of 2016 and East Africa Certificates of 2015 and 2016.
He further said the targeted number of students for the admission was 14,115 students, but the planned number that the universities presented to the admission office was 11,601. He explained that the number of students applied for the admission was 9,500.
“Out of the nine thousand five hundred students who applied, a total of four thousand seven hundred, including seven hundred female students have been admitted for Bachelor and diploma programs in the country’s five public universities,” he said.
