A high-level delegation from South Sudan’s National Ministry of Education on Wednesday arrived in the disputed area of Abyei to inspect schools in the area.
The delegation included the ministry’s undersecretary and several experts in the department of alternative education and sports activities.
Abyei area minister of education told Radio Tamazuj that the delegation visited two primary schools and one secondary school with the aim of acquainting itself with the challenges facing education in Abyei.
The Abyei official cited a lack of seats, books and other problems as challenges they face.
“So the students presented the challenges facing them. They said they didn’t have books and seats and they also lack teachers and other things,” he said.
