Dozens of government soldiers have been admitted at Juba Teaching Hospital and Military Hospital following fighting with armed opposition forces in Western Equatoria State since Sunday, multiple sources told Radio Tamazuj.
A medical doctor who preferred anonymity said that the Juba Teaching Hospital had received more than 14 wounded SPLA soldiers on Sunday morning.
Another doctor from the Military Hospital said the facility was overcrowded with wounded soldiers, saying they receive more than 20 wounded soldiers every day.
He pointed out that most of the wounded soldiers are brought from the frontlines in Western Equatoria State where fighting continues between the government and the opposition force in Wonduruba, Lainya and some parts of Yei and Pageri.
For his part, Michael Makuei Lueth, South Sudan Information Minister, disputed reports about clashes between the government and the SPLA-IO faction in the Equatoria region, claiming Riek Machar had fled Juba and that he will not return back.
