Farmers in Melut County in South Sudan’s Upper Nile state are complaining about a shortage of equipments and supplies for this year’s planting season.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, farmers warned of the potential impact on the agricultural season.
The Director of the County Agricultural Department said farmers are ready to cultivate, but are facing lack of tractors, seeds and fuel.
He explained that the area is witnessing high prices of agricultural supplies, noting that the security tensions in neighboring counties may also contribute toward negatively affecting this year planting season.
